just exploring options.. but this is good to know. I rarely drive the car when I can't put the top down. I just really liked the idea of going to a glass window as opposed to watching the plastic get worn. I was planning on doing the ap1->ap2 soft top at a later date, but since they have to take out the softtop to paint the car and labor is paid for... speeding it up isn't going to hurt.

having an ap2 i would understand why you wouldn't realize that plastic tops yellow.. get scratched, and visibility is compromised, but i'm sure you've seen plenty of examples around here. They also crack eventually too.
