I'd do the repair for $2k. That's pretty much the most I can spend though. Any more, and my options become paint it, and leave it alone for a while, or paint it and throw on some side skirts.

Back in september I lost the rear end in the rain turning left from a stop light, and rode up on the curb.

I had to replace two rear tires, but didn't have any wheel or suspension damage. (at least, the suspension was able to be put back to stock alignment specs)

That said, my car has been feeling pretty squirmy since then. I think it's just a combination of the switch to all seasons (it's my first winter with the car), and the fact that I'm expecting something to be wrong, so I'm looking for it.
