Just got up from a nap... at work. Needed that 20 minutes. Rotator cuff is getting looked at tomorrow. It's been preventing me from sleeping through the night.
That sucks.

One of the guys I work with just had rotator cuff surgery. He said it wasn't that bad... There was a fair amount of initial discomfort and pain but he said it went away pretty quick. I was doing well about two weeks post op and was supposed to make a full recovery after about six weeks.

tell them upfront.. most places are understanding about that.
Too many other things to tell them about which are not optional. When it comes down to it, the Dragon is. So, instead of bombarding them day 1 I will see how it plays out.

im not too worried about the drive, its the final half hour or so that im worried about.
The tricky part, IMHO, is getting through Knoxville. The interchanges were all fubar'd last time I went through. Got Bobbie and I lost BIG TIME.

leave her at home
I don't want to. As much a I B&M about her sometimes she really is my best friend. I'd be really lonely if she didn't go along.

Cool. I'm hoping they'll just have me do therapy and say it's just underused/overused. I do not want to have any procedure during the driving campaign, however, sleep is important.

My colleague went through his surgery about the same time I did mine. From where I was sitting, he was definitely doing better than me. Could just be my perspective...

He is about your age, too, Skip. Maybe just a couple years younger. He has four kids and he is a volunteer fire fighter for Purcellville, Virginia. I think his oldest is 18 but I know he had him when he was really quite young. His oldest daughter is in middle school and their twins are barely out of diapers.

I guess my point is don't be afraid of the surgery. I really didn't seem like it was all that bad.

I just found the mother of all "why are people crashing their Toyotas?" thread. There is not enough in this world to go along with how I feel about the opinions in there.

Um... Okay. I'm not him so I cannot say what he was feeling all I know is that he wasn't cowering in pain or anything like that.

I was miserable and he went about his day.
