HD-DVD was awesome because it was for the most part the same price as standard def. discs.

I caught the tail end of that bandwagon and ended up picking up quite a few of them for uber-cheap.

My major complaint with BD is that I do not have any way of renting them. I tend to rent way more than I buy so this is actually pretty important to me. I don't have any of the major chains in my area and the POS little mom and pops out my way do not rent hi-def yet.

I'm hoping that redbox will step up in the not so distant future.

Netflix supports BD for a few dollars more per month.

The Red Box down here will have big blockbusters in Blu-Ray like The Dark Knight and such.

what i dont understand is why Sony had to come out with a new format. is this revenge for BETA?

I'm pretty close to signing up for Netfix... We have been renting a TON more movies since Redbox came around but not quite enough to pay for Netflix.

None of the Redboxes in my area (even Leesburg) have BD in them yet.
