you dont need 9000rpm to build boost. If you can't build boost at 7500rpm then something is wrong also that is what smaller pulleys are for, spinning the charger faster at lower rpm's.
keep in mind... if this was a turbo application (like you're doing?) and or a roots style blower.. then hell yeah.. a 2.5 would be worth it..... but for the centrifugal, i think ehhh about it..... money to power ratio is ehhh...
