Depends. Are you staying *mostly* stock?
The power deficit in the 3.0 ('97+ has the 3.2) can be overcome with just a few bolt-ons. But you won't get the better tranny.
BUT, if there are big plans, the 3.2's OBD and DBW are much harder to work around so tuning major mods is still very difficult.

Don't really know if I'll stay stock...I've never driven one
. I was planning on checking a couple out this weekend but the weather sucks. I guess I'll know a little more when I have driven a couple of them. I do like the idea of OBDI over the OBDII and didn't even realize there was DBW on the 97+. I've got to go do some more reading up.

The DBW came out on the first T in '95, as well as EPS across the board. Before '95 EPS was only available on the automatics. Some like it, some hate it.
