There was a ton of money from the Mormon Church behind Prop 8. I feel that it will be overturned in court.

Prop 8 actively EXCLUDES people via Constitutional amendment. This won't stand and can't stand. I also think the case(s) being brought on the basis of incorrect use of Proposition to craft law hopefully have a good chance of succeeding.

I have yet to hear of one good reason as to why gay people shouldn't have the exact same rights as hetero couples.

Not a very religious man here, but your point is invalid. All have sinned, if you are a believer, but to accept more sin because you have already sinned, is not the right thing to do. A better point to be made is the do not judge point. It is not for us to judge others, that is Gods job. That argument will go a bit further than "other people sin, so its ok for me"

That being said, you are never going to get anywhere with this thread--you know most people that are against homosexual rights are either religious or full of hate (or both). This board will not solve either.

I think answering this question is almost as difficult as answering why some are gay and some are not. If you believe in creation, then you know the bible says its wrong. If you believe in evolution, then you know that this is not in line with survival of the species (that is to say, if we had a whole generation of homosexual homo sapiens, the race would cease).

 

I'm not for Prop 8 but I am not against it, either. If it were up to me, I would allow same-sex domestic unions... With everything the same except the name.. what other people would call them is up to them.
