Yea I try to baby it back and make sure it folds as proper as possible....

I have that cloth over the bar that you speak of. This could possibly be the second time the top tore to be honest. I'm the second owner. However from the way it looks, it wore through the cloth first then put enough tension against the vinyl to stretch a couple teeny pinholes through it. Its a shame really, but at this point I have come to expect that it would happen eventually. Nothing a little vinyl patch or dab of silicone sealant won't fix. And if it worsens I have the extended warranty, I'll just bitch until they cave in
