I don't know about you guys, but shipping costs to Hawaii really chap my asshole. We always end up getting screwed on ridiculous shipping prices, especially for bulky aftermarket parts. So I was stoked to hear from a co-worker that starting Jan 3, 2005 UPS is offering ground shipping rates to Hawaii! And yes, I have called to CONFIRM his claim. Not only will we be able to get the parts we want at a more reasonable price, but the wives and girlfriends will also have less to complain about.
scenario*:

Her: "What the hell is this purchase on our credit card for $1200?!"
You: "Oh honey, it's that titanium exhaust that I NEEDED for the car."
Her: "You spent $1200 on a stupid muffler?!"
You: "But baby, I saved a ton on of money on my shipping cost by switching to UPS."
Her: "I love you."
You:

So now all the sellers got to do is update the software they use to figure out shipping etc to make sure its updated with the new shipping prices to Hawaii.

 

Maybe I can actually get some wheels for some race tires now!!

Funny though how they waited until AFTER Christmas to start this.

judging by how long we've been ignored as an actual part of the US, i hardly think anything having to do with Hawaii is big news to them. i think they probably just found out we were a state!
