Regardless of the act itself (which at this point I don't know if it occurred or not), what I find quite amazing/sad are the rather flippant reactions by the people here. Since when is it alright to use someone's property without their permission? If you park your car topdown is it alright for me to jump in the passenger seat and rummage around for things...maybe eat a piece of gum/ use your suntan lotion and leave you 10 cents. Maybe I'm missing something but why are people using "lol" & "hahahaha" when responding...personally I would fail to see the humor in it if it happened to me.

wasnt even his buffer to begin with apparently...if it was a shop one so what thats community you cant hoarde it...but if it was his personal buffer than yea thats pretty jacked up...but if he rented it from the bay then why put it in your car and have to pay the money to store it there when you should just turn it in to give someone else a chance to use it...thats like keeping a round the way girl to yourself once you find one...

i don't think we're laughing at the guys misfortune, it's more like we are laughing at collen's crazy antics.

i was under the impression that the buffer wasn't either one of theirs. sounds like a kindergarden class from both sides.

if he RENTED it from the bay, it's his exclusive right to use it. doesn't matter if he chooses not to operate it, he paid for the rental.

if you went and got a rental car from ALAMO, and parked it on the street, someone else can't just use it because you aren't.

If it's first come-first serve at the bay, and no rental fees are charged for the power tools, then it would seem a little more justified, but other than that....am i missing something here?

that's my understanding for it...or maybe the guy who borrowed it was going off to lunch (or pick up more supplies) and didnt wanna lose the use of it...

if i had borrowed a screwdriver and wasnt using it *at that moment*, i'd still want it in my possession instead of letting it go to someone else then having to wait for them to finish when i'd need to use it...

but i only heard one side for now...

the $7 payment makes the story interesting...

everywhere i have gone that allows the use of rental tools they log the time you signed it out and signed it back in and THEN you were charged the fee not a flat rate fee whether you use it or not...and also everywhere i have gone they have more than ONE tool at the customer's disposal so............
