Well I just signed up with the base outdoor rec to go on the overnight Mt Fuji trip. I'm renting hicking boots (brand new), rain gear. I'll probably by a few under armor shirt and just layer with that. It's so freakin humid over here right now I might welcome the cold weather at night. Well at least for the first 30 mins of it.

Thanks for the tips. I'm going with some co workers so now I really have to make it to the top.

WOW 94% humidity is crazy. It was about 90 yesterday and I could not stop sweating all day. I went to see all the freaks at Harajuku yesterday it was pretty cool.

I don't know how you do it Nate. I'm sick of going TDY and I don't go nearly as much as you do. But with all this travelling I can see why you can afford those things for you car. Do you get full per diem on these trips or are you on a base and do they make you eat at the chow hall?

I think I'm only getting 20 or 30 something extra a day here since my room and food is all paid for. I wish I was getting full perdiem because I think it's around $60 or something.

Anything cool going on in Tokyo this week?

Yeah, I travel TDY (Temporary Duty) and I collect full per diem. I just flew back in tonight and I'm in Hawaii for a couple days, but I'm going to California on Thursday and I'll be there until August. This crap is getting to be a real drag but my command is way undermanned and I'm one of only two team leaders. We should have 12 or 13 people at my command, but we have 6 at the moment so I lead almost every trip we take. The money is nice but me and Crystal don't see each other much and it probably won't get better until next year. I guess the one nice thing that might come out of this nice relaxing shore duty assignment (sarcasm) is I'm looking at making Chief Petty Officer(E-7) with only 8 years of service. I'll find that out in a couple weeks.

Both you guys are from Pearl Harbor? I went on a TAD to repair the San Francisco last year and they paid $91/day per diem. That was nice.........weather was not
