Default CDV

Hi everyone. I've been thinking of doing this mod for a while now, and I was wondering if any of you have done this? any regrets? also I remember my ap1 used to feel like its slipping but I guess it was the CDV. come to find out, after some time I noticed that it was gone and my clutch was grabbing hard. Hmm, strange. do u guys think that I may have broken it or something cuz it just stopped. Any imput is appriciated.

Thanx, walker

What is a Clutch Delay Valve: The CDV causes the clutch not to engage quickly at full throttle. It is suppose to help save the rear end of the car from wear and damage, but seems to do so at the expense of clutch wear.

How do you remove it: The CDV in the S2000 is integrated into the clutch slave cylinder and you need to remove the slave cylinder to get to it. Details are in the "Under the Hood" forum.

Does your car have a CDV: only 2004 and newer (i.e AP2 models) have a CDV, no AP1 ever left the factory with a CDV.

Indeed, if you have what feels like a CDV, its probably your clutch slipping

I just pulled the CDV out of the existing slave cylinder.

It's not worth the time and effort to purchase another slave cylinder IMHO.

there were no slaves in honolulu, and i figured that it was safer to buy one instead of risking some how damaging the stock one and downing the car. it took no extra time, i ordered it from HTG, swap took 10 minutes.
