Default Got a ticket for running a red

Back in November I got a ticket for running a red light. This was the left turn from Kapiolani to McCully. I was following jdm rsx and the light was yellow while I was going through the intersection. I wrote a letter but they denied it. Now my question is when I take it to trial, should I be getting myself a lawyer? What was that number that Heather was giving out?

Why are you going to get a lawyer for a fine that only amounts to ~$200-$300? Just goto court and beg for reduced fine, pay the fine, do traffic school (if you can remove points from your driving record), and move on. Guy Matsunaga is gonna cost you $$, and there is no guarantee that he can get you off.

Hmmm...Maybe make a complaint to the internal affairs about the police officer that wrongly cited you. I had that same exact situation happen to me. on Waialae, just before Zippy's. Officer x. LEE...patrol car.

so, what exactly is the law on this situation? Is it as long as any part of your car enters the intersection while yellow your okay or is it you need to be across the intersection before it turns red?
I dunno I think the first one is accurate.
