It would be pretty simple to setup a mac mini in an S2000.
1. Why do it? It could play MP3, DVD, MPEG, etc. along with being GPS and wireless internet capable. I would also do it because I like playing with electronics and sparks are fun! (Sometimes)
2. Why a Mac Mini? Because I like Mac, I hate Windows, and its the right size.
The only thing I wouldn't want to do myself is install the screen, as I know jack about fiberglass. I would want to install the screen like the JDM setup only I would use a LILLIPUT touchscreen vice the stock alpine unit. If I happen to do this does anybody have any connections with the local audio guys, someone I could trust to cut the dash?
Anyways, I'm just thinking out loud right now, at least until my tax refund arrives. Anybody else in the local crew use Mac besides me and Curry-Ricer?
I'm past the thinking stage and have moved on to the purchasing stage. I have some of the parts I need, but I'm still looking for an audio installer guru who can handle the dash mods. I want the dash to look like this when I'm done:
The frame around the screen on that car was handmade by a shop on the mainland for another owner. I'm open for suggestions if you have any, other than that I'm just bouncing shop to shop looking at their work.
the frame is actually made by honda, but its made for rhd. so it will need to be heated and slightly bent back towards the driver. the screen can be used or u can use an after market screen which is probably easier and cheaper....
try call PATS at sonics. ask for pat...
another guy thats good does it i think he works for shift mag. and is a distributor for kenwood oh yea his name is Ed..dont know his # though. but i think i could find out... he does alot of work before shows.
If the Crutchfield unit does not "see" the iPod like a factory CD changer, consider the Dension Ice Link. There is a good writeup on installation and useage here: Ice Link install
jzz30-
If you could find Ed's number for me that would be cool. Also, when you say Sonics in your post, are you talking about Sonic Motor Sports? Thanks again man.

yea i ment sonic motorsports. um u cant find ed's # right now but try give sonic a call first and see if they can do it if they cant then i can try find ed's #
Sonic said the install was a bit above them, the amount of time it would take them to
figure it out and do it right would cost me up near 2 grand. Sonics also told me to try
Security & Sound Systems, I hope they can do better. Thanks anyway for the help.
