Default Modification laws

Hello fellow s2ki members. I currently live in California and I am planning on transferring to hawaii state university in a year or so. I was just wondering how are the car modification laws? Are they strict on tints, engine modifications and, exhaust laws?

Hawaii is much more lax about modifying your car than CA. There's no smog check here so basically anything goes as far as engine mods, but I still run an HFC over a test pipe. You can get tickets for a loud exhaust but I havent seen/heard too many people get cited for that. What they are kinda strict on is the suspension, but again if you don't get caught you don't really need to worry.

Lowered = recon (reconstruction) + alignment + safety check.

cool. have a few friends that took accounting... ended doing other things. they said the program was good though. gl!
just ask if you need advice on where to live, eat, do, etc. everyone here is very helpful and there is actually NO drama here

as far as being lowered, having a small gap tends to keep the cops away

just stay away from waikiki. Any modified car that enters the area will be pulled over right away (unless you have a recon permit) Ward too, all my friends, including myself have been pulled over for having lowered cars. but as felipe said, leave a little gap (it'll usually keep them away).

forgot about the exhaust thing, put a silencer on, it'll save you some trouble
