Default Needs some parts

I was hoping I could get some advice on where to buy parts and maybe some advice on which to get. Recently my 05 S' has lost a lot of power. I kept bogging down in first so I checked the cable tension and it was so loose that it almost popped off. I am going to tighten that up but I think it is time to upgrade the spark plugs and change the air filter. I just popped off the box so it will breath better. ? Bosch or NGK ? Iridium or Platinum ? What filter would you suggest and where can I pick up or order parts? I have no clue about the shops out here so any advice would be great. Thanks guys and gals. Later

mobile 1 synthetic for the engine oil and 303 aerospace protectant for the top. you can pick up the latter at longs.

Just get a K/N OEM replacement filter. Someone here has on for sale. Put the lid back on. It's not breathing better when your engine bay gets hot. I usually get my OEM Honda parts from HondaAutomotiveParts.com. They're cheaper even with shipping. Get OEM replacement plugs. Stay away from Bosch, AutoLite. They don't mix well with Honda's from what I've read.

Go to Costco or Walmart for Mobil 1. 303 protectant from Checkers -- it's pricey, but I swear this stuff lasts a long time. Use it on tires, plastic, vinyl. Nice sheen on the tires, not the plastic shine.

I don't think it'd be necessary to upgrade spark plugs, just get oem replacements.
You should put the lid back on the airbox, it's only contributing to the bogging.
Was there any reason why your cable was loose? I assume you mean the throttle cable?

the throttle cables are loose. check them by having someone press the gas pedal down to the floor and check that the throttle plate has opened up all the way. if it opens all the way, then you're getting full throttle while the pedal is floored. nothing wrong with that.

the 05's shouldn't have issues. unless the recalled plugs went in. IIRC, they were coming loose.

Thanks a lot guys. I adjusted the throttle cable and I will put the lid back on the intake box. I wanted NGK plugs but I think I am going to go with Bosch 2's. I ran them in my H22A1 prelude for years and they worked great!! I appreciate the advice. I just read up on royal purple motor oil. It is extremely expensive but it seems like a better way to go than Mobile 1. I am going to purchase it later this evening unless someone tells me otherwise. Thanks again for the advice and if anyone has a K&N air filter replacement, let me know and I will buy it.

go look in the forsale thread..someones selling one for 50 buks and BTW the OEM plugs are 80 sumthing bucks..also royal purple sucks. i heard it creates lots of engine gunk..go with REDLINE..thats good shit..it to is also expensive but its most likely the best oil here..
