Default No more VTEC for me

My vtec doesn't work. I think it's the VTEC solenoid, but they are special order parts that must be paid for in advance ($251 for a freakin solenoid?!) and take 10 days to arrive accoring to Honda. If any of you are brave (or stupid) enough to let me, I would like to swap a solenoid from a donor car (yours) to my car for a few minutes to be certain this is the problem.

Here's the troubleshooting thread I posted in "Under the Hood":
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...&f=22&t=396091

Here's whats involved:
The solenoid is bolted to the left side of the head as you look at it from the front. It is held on by three 10mm bolts. It would take 20 minutes to swap, test drive, and swap them back to normal from start to finish. I'll clean the solenoid oil filter while I'm at it, something you need to take the solenoid off for anyway.

If nobody wants to play ginnie pig thats cool, pretty big favor to ask. But if anybody has an accident in the next week (things happen, brakes fail, spikes get left in the road, etc.) then I got dibs on on your solenoid...

nate um try undoing the vent. that can reduce oil pressure or run the risk of foamibg fluid much like pulling a vacume on water and watching it boil while still cold.
i have read that the k-series doesnt do so well with the crank vacume. i assume the F may be the same
