shoulda kept it standing
i thought mccall won as well. draw is cool... round 4,5,6 or 7... fight!
It's been a while since I've watched any fights! The McCall/Johnson fight was a good one. Johnson is a dangerous counter-striker and McCall is tough! He's not afraid to eat one and dish one! I was surprised to see the ref let it ride to the bell at the end. I love watching good fresh rounded fighters that still has something to prove and not get involved with the politics yet fight the fight.
It was nice to see Benavidez finish with a Knockout. I wanted to follow this kid since the beginning part of his career when I first seen him in Pride and saw lots of talent, but his fights were getting boring with repeatedly going longer than it should and the same simple submissions. I thought with his strength and speed, he'd be dropping his opponents more often. With his last couple fights, I kinda see why he doesn't. He seems to strike "at" his targets instead of "through" them which although looks powerful, sacrifices much of it's strength on impact. He kinda reminds me of Sherk a little.
Alves reminds me of Wanderlei when I see him fight. Unlucky roll that cost him the fight though. I think if he didn't end up on his back, he could've had enough control stay in it. The guillotine wasn't that tight but with the leverage that Kampmann had with being on top and no where to go, Alves lost it.
