I would look into the DOD Civilian sector. They can make some good money, plus 30 days paid vacation a year, and you get Cost of Living Allowance which can make all the difference in a place where ceral is 7 dollars a box. As far as private banks go in Hawaii, just keep this in mind... When something huge like the recession happens in the mainland, it takes 6 months to a year for the same full effect to be felt here.

Cool, how come toe out on the front? doesnt that make it pull all over the place+cut down on the steering? Does it just feel better? (total noob, just wondering). Is the toe in on the back to keep it tucked in and not sliding all over the place?

Maybe Ill try a average of UK spec/your specs for agressive vs. 'liveable' setup I got dcent priced tires on my car right now so i dont mind it being chewed up too much..
the toe out does make it pull, but the turn in is increased to my senses. Some people run 0 toe in the front, but I would say some is good.. like 1/8 inch. keep in mind some places do metric so you might have to convert your specs depending on the system they use. and yes the toe in in the back keeps it from sliding sideways everywhere. there is a Nationals guy who runs 0 toe in the rear and his screen name is 'Slideways'

Ohh, okay. haha, I might have to try 0 toe in the rear eventually just to see how sideways it goes I'll try your specs out after I mess with the UK specs/see what I like/dont like about it.

thanks!

First Hawaiian and Bank of Hawaii are 2 of the most stable banks in the nation right now. Neither of them got in on the subprime and all that other garbage, so their books are pretty clean.

If I had a choice of who to work for, it would be first hawaiian, but only because I work alongside them on a lot of events they hold and from what I've seen in the past 2-3 years, they are the expanding bank, whereas bank of Hawaii has kind of leveled off. Seems like a great company. Employees are very happy, lots of little parties and stuff, lots of employee appreciation.

Colin is right on the money with DOD though, can't beat civi DOD here in Hawaii, especially with COLA being like 20% of your pay or something obscene. Lots of cash for parts and SHIPPING! Cause everything gets shipped here.

If you aren't already, invest in a costco membership, it's the only affordable way to eat cereal here in the islands.

Oh and another thing.

To the fine people in the s2000 design and engineering department ,and also to the equally fine people in Holland who work at Koni.

You should all be handcuffed and dragged across hot coals then shot if you have had any involvement in provided an incorrectly threaded nut on the koni sport shocks, or if you had anything to do with putting the gas filler nozzle above the shock mount, OR if you are the engineer who spec'd the shaft diameter as being a "brunette" larger than the stock shock.

thank you, pricks.

JK

Seriously though, an m12 bolt and nut with a 1.25 thread for some reason is different at koni than it is at honda. I measured both of them with a feeler and the koni had just slightly thicker and deeper grooves, but it was not an m12/150, which made for a hell of a day mounting the damn shocks. Gave me an excuse to use my tap and die set though, that's always nice.

what have the rest of you running koni's done? I know some guys just cross-thread them and choose to deal with it in the future.

Ok I got it off my chest, what a pain, those damn shocks better be worth it. And I hope to hell i got a good setting on the rears at 3/4 stiff, cause I don't wanna have a conversation like this in the pits.

"excuse me mate, do you have a 8mm I could borrow, oh and a 10, yeah my rear shocks need to be adjusted..."

"what good are the wrenches then, don't you have a key for your shock adjusters?"

"Oh yeah, I do but you see, the people at honda are c*cks, and I just need to pop the fuel filler and push it into the trunk in order to make that adjustment...".

^ i feel your pain! we couldn't even find a M12x1.50 pitch nut at any hardware store when we put in the JIC coilovers. eventually i just looked up a similar nut in a Honda Prelude helms manual and bought it at a Honda dealership
