i always thought that powerlines were insulated and couldnt produced outside currents unless inside wires were exposed

I am in the same predicament. Had one sitting in my garage for a bit but can't decide where/ how to install it.....

as for the tree branch I can testify to power lines transmitting through wood, because I was trimming a tree once when I was a kid and swung a branch into some power lines and got shocked quite a bit.....good thing wood isnt a REAL good conductor or I would have been seriously hurt....

i think it's safe to touch power lines. as long as your ONLY touching ONE at a time. but i could be wrong.

i walked pass a line that had snapped and was laying on the ground.
i called 911 and the operator asked "does it look dangerous?"
me "ummmm.....ya...well..i wouldn't wanna touch it"
