So, today during MWR Guard i've been looking around for parts and whatnot. I thought about, entertainment. With Ipads being the new thing, why not fabricate some sort of mount to hook it up to my S?

So i looked around and actually found the navigation unit installed on the japanese S2ks and thought, this would be a great mounting dock for the Ipad.
Did a little research:


Read the specs, Opening of the bezel measures 7-1/4" x 4".

went to the lovely Apple.com and found the specs for the Ipad,
which came to be 9.56" x 7.47".



With minor modifcations, and the Ipad sticking up. Do any of you guys think this would be worth the try?

Cutting the dash that big would require you to modify vents along with relocating the airbags sensor.

Maybe you can side mount it from the cluster bezel

 

anyone know of a junkyard S or similar? i need all the underplastic from the front end of an AP2. Ran it through a "lake" yesterday, sheared off the front lip, dragged it under the car, and managed to destroy all the plastic in the process
