Default R-U-Ready-For...

This Sunday..... AUTOCROSS WEEKEND will soon be here!

When and where: April 4 Hawaii Raceway Park

Heat 1: ESP, FSP, All Modified
Heat 2: All Prepared, STS, SM
Heat 3: All Stock
Heat 4: ASP, BSP, CSP, DSP

Finish installing those mods, check the tires, make sure there's enough oil so VTEC will work (don't laugh, I know some of you out there knows what I'm talking about) and if you're in it for the long run, make sure to sign up for SCCA membership which will reduce monthly costs dramatically.

Here's the link to the Membership form, in PDF format. Download, print and send it in.

Click here to download the form.

OR... (there's always another way)

If you want to do it quick and dirty, you can contact the SCCA directly over the phone.

All they need is a credit card number and the information on the form and they give your membership number over the phone. It was fast and easy, instead of filling out the form and mailing it. The number is 1-800-770-2055 ask for Cathy, she in charge of membership.

Okay, it's time to come down and watch some of the hottest drivers and hottest S2000's tear it up once again. You don't have to pay a dime to come and watch, but make sure to bring that sunscreen, shades, water and maybe a hat... but definitely bring those cameras so you can post some of the action here.

Watch as Joey's Comptech monster strip asphalt from the track... but perhaps this time he won't let a co-driver outdo him (j/k Joey, just leave some asphalt for us guys okay?) The ear-deafening, black "Mugenized" special driven by the current Team S2000 ace "Steve" will unveil the secrets locked in his new Tein RS suspension. If all goes well, we may see a new Curry House opening up in Campbell very soon. Colin the "Yoda" to S2k auto-xing will demonstrate how you can have a bad day and still place in the top 5 fastest times in someone else's car. Dr. Mark drives the newest breed of S2000 and goes after Jayson Guzman and his E36 M3 in the fight for B-stock supremacy in his yellow (it smacks the rev-limiter too fast) 2.2L AP2, and... well I'll still try my best not to get my ass handed to me by a beat-up Ford Pinto running on 4 spare tires and a half-inch exhaust system driven by some old blind guy with a nasty full-body cramp. I think I got him this time (I'm packing my race socks and secret race deodorant) so he doesn't stand a chance.

Forgive me if I left anyone out, but we'd all like to see more people come out, have a fun day and learn what the car can and cannot do, but you'll also learn what you can and can't do. There's no shame in coming out so don't be shy. Yoda's a nice guy, but excessively hard on himself and he's got a lot of information to share if you listen carefully.

Let's hope for nice weather, zero equipment problems and ultra-low times. See you there!

He's baaaack!!
Nobody sets up the weekend better than you, Jimmy.
I'm headed to Eurosport right now to throw in the Tein's. Hopefully we can get it to a decent setting in short time on my nearly heat-cycled Victoracers (oops! who's fault is that?!)

Hey Jimmy,

Looking forward to trying out the Teins, Stephen stopped by and the ride is "suitably firm" to say the least! Stephen, those tires are over heat cycled!

I bet the Teins will prove itself worthy... but the big question is (drum roll please)

... is it enough to take the bad, blue Datsun from the top spot? We'll soon see I guess, and we have the 2 best drivers to do it. Faith!

I wouldn't go that far, Jimmy. Not at HRP anyway. The closest I've gotten to Curtis is 3 seconds. I figure the Teins should give a second or so when properly tuned, but I guess if Curtis is having a bad day....
I know Colin got within a second of the No.1 spot when they were at the other autocross location, and that was with a B-stock S2000.

Oh well, time will tell. That's why we compete. I don't know about you, but I'm tired of this Nissan domination.

Well, I suspect we have the HP/weight ratio to get close, but we don't have the weight/Tire size ratio to actually beat him. Those steamroller tires on his car are way more than we can match. I wonder of Hoosiers could get us closer? They are supposed to be stickier, though the don't last as long?
