Upon reexamining the photos:
It looks like the Bulbul was alive after being swallowed by the S. It was trying to escape out between the panels to the rear of the front spoiler area. But after it got it's head out.. WHAM! High speed bump, made contact with Bulbul's head. Just look at the scapes on the underside of the car.
