pounding it up st. louis heights gets you more seat time than SCCA does in a month. lol
"Pounding it" in a highly populated residential area in the afternoon/evening hours as you do isn't a good idea, especially when there are lots of joggers and bicyclists out and about.

Besides, with all your "seat time" you still suck at driving. Perhaps switching from having a larger quantity of "seat time" to having a better quality of "seat time" may help you.

Going to autocross might not be for everyone, but at least you won't get arrested or kill someone while you try to test the performance of your car.

if any of you guys come out, ill be in the AS class in a SS s2000. S2JK from here is usually there as well. Ill be there in february in case any one else wants to go.

If your not an SCCA member it'll be 15 for weekend membership, and 30 to race and 5 for fun runs (worth it!) at the end. and the 15 for the weekend membership can be used as partial payment on a yearly membership if you plan on doing this in the long run. i got hooked last june.

Wow some more interest than the last time I tried to get people to go to an autocross! The STR doesn't start till like April I believe, but your first time out you will be in the novice class, which allows an instructor to ride with you (or drive your car if you want while you ride) and give you great first time pointers to get you started!

Unfortunately, I have to go on another trip so will probably miss the feb event but will hopefully make the next 2!

If you guys are really nervous about it still, it is free to come out and spectate, and if you stay for the fun runs I am sure people would be willing to give you a ride so you can see what it looks like from the car (little easier than watching a camera recording)

you would do fine going to an event without mastering the art of heel toe....

with the s2ks gearing, you can go through most of the track in first. for starters that is fine. you will only red line for less than a sec most times and can go up to red at most 3 times.
