Default suspension

i think i'm gonna work on suspension next.

i dunno whats good. any suggestions.

i may get rid of my h&rs and go with some adjustible shocks and some springs, although i hear really good things about the tein coilover setups.

then theres stb and x brace.....

what else is there? i learn as i go. also pics would be flippin sweet too!

don't bother with an stb as it seems the consensus is that it is merely a "bling" piece and does nothing to improve handling. you will feel a difference with an x brace, the biggest being when you drive over uneven pavement. the car will feel a lot more solid and not be jarred around as much. as for shocks and springs, you need to consider what kind of driving you're going to be doing. street cruising? auto-x?

i want good handling on the street, cornering and high speeds, but not cornering at high speeds. thats how the little ricers whos parents bought them their cars crash. no auto x for me. i dont want to crash

haha same here, i haven't grown the balls to hit up auto-x yet. my suspension setup currently consists of only a cusco lower brace (same as x brace but this one looks like a V instead) and buddyclub racing spec coilovers. i'm very satisfied with it so far. the ride height and stiffness is adjustable so it's very streetable. you can sample if u wanna see how it rides. best bet is to get test rides from people with different setups you're considering so you can see firsthand if you'll like it or not. nothing sucks more than blowing a fat wad on something (or someone ) only to be disappointed in the end.
btw we're such work postwhores its almost like instant messenger already!

justin and i got almost the same setup but i also have the comptech rear lower brace. it was a gift from my bro, that's why it's not cusco. i don't believe in STB's unless they triangulate to the firewall somehow. if your shock towers are flexy, why join them to another flexy shock tower? look at the 350z, it comes with a STB, it must need it if the factory puts it on.

i'm contemplating the cusco 3piece floor bar setup. it's not that expensive, but the shipping might be. i thought it might help me more since my car has been in a serious crash.

i didn't go with the tein flex because i couldn't figure out why the rear spring rate was soo high. (10kg/12kg) while their racing/circuit stuff is 10kg/10kg. and i didn't want to spend that much on c/o's anyway. and smcurry should correct me if i'm wrong, the mugens are 8kg/8kg.

I like the Megan Coilovers so far, when we all get back in town you can take my S for a drive and see what you think.
