Hello, I'm just wondering what I should do on the island of Oahu for a week. I was thinking of taking a helicoptor tour or something to quickly see the islands but after that does anyone here have any suggestions?

 

Skydive, go to the beaches, snorkel, visit Pearl Harbor, spend a day at the Polynesian Cultural Center (http://www.polynesia.com), take a drive around the island (go over the Pali Highway, through the H-3 tunnel, up around north shore, around the south east side, no particular order just good spots to drive) take a sunset dinner cruise (http://www.starofhonolulu.us/), hike to the top of Diamond Head (easy hike on paved trail with stairs), hang out on the Waikiki Beach strip and shop at the international marketplace, visit the Ala Moana Mall and eat some shrimp at Buba Gumps...

Just a few things off the top of my head.

best thing to do in hawaii is surf!

 

eat shrimp at giovanni's shrimp shack in kahuku. it'll send you into cardiac arrest but it's worth it.

Those shrimp at Giovanni's are good...but what a rip off. I think they're charging about $1 per shrimp now, and they're not that big. Oh you get a 2 cent scoop of rice with it though. I guess if you're here on vacation you're not gonna care too much though.

You should definitely check out the north shore though....you will be here for most of the "holding period" for the Triple Crown of Surfing Pipeline Masters event. It's arguably the biggest and most prestigious surfing event held in Hawaii. All the top pros will be there. Here's the website:
