When are you going to be here? What kind of scene are you into where you're from? Would you be more comfortable hanging out with other tourists (Waikiki clubs/bars), or do you want to know where the locals play (well, some of them play in Waikiki too...)

I am going to rent a car and looking for areas that the locals go to, but I don't mind hanging with the other tourist. I am into hip hop and r&b type music for a club where I can find some nice ladies to dance with. 
But I am also into alternative or rock music where I can see a live band and just relax. So I just wanted to get an idea of where you guys go. I should be there for about a week starting from the 25th. thanks for your help.
