Default Tech Day at the "Davie Garage" - Dec 22

Back by popular demand is a tech day at my house in Davie. Come on over in the morning (08:00-noon) on Thursday December 22nd. Even though it's during the week, I figured that most people would have some time off. Christmas and New Year are on weekends, so I didn't want to plan for those days.

The purpose of this gathering is to change fluids and do other light maintenance on your car. So come on over to change the oil in your engine, transmission or differential. We'll have the correct suction and pumping devices, all you'll need to bring is the fluid and replacement crush washers. If you have other requests, let me know. Accommodating other jobs will depend on who can come and help with the work.

Respond in this thread if you're planning to attend. Please include in your response what it is you want done on your car, if you can help with the work, and if you need directions to my place (located in west Davie not far from I75 and I595).

Merry Christmas!

Sorry Nick, I don't have a small enough screwdriver to adjust the potentiometer in the defective radio in that car.

I've been using Honda MTF (manual transmission fluid) in my transmission. Others have reported that Redline MT90 and GM Synchromesh Friction Modified are good alternatives.

I use LE-607 gear lube in my differential. I've used Mobil 1 75/90 in the past.

Crush washers are available through Honda Dealers.

Online sources include the Go Fast lab on this site, H and A Accessories, and Rick's S2000. Shop around for the best prices, but don't forget to consider shipping. If there are enough people interested, let's put together a joint order to save on shipping. I did this once before for LE-607, but we need to make the order soon to ensure timely delivery.

Would love to do my brake/clutch fluid and front brake pads. (would need help) Not sure I can make it yet. Might have to work. Also I'll help others if I can be there.

Josh, thanks for offering to host (again)!

I'm in to change my oil, tranny, and diff fluids. I can bring a floor jack, stands, various tools, an oil catch pan, and a couple of giant cat litter jugs to hold the used oils.

I haven't done brake pads yet, but I'd like to learn how if Josh is willing to teach us.

I'm probably going to order a few things for the S as well as the accord, but I'll probably place my own order today. With Christmas so close, shipping is SLOW right now, so better to play it safe.

Look forward to seeing everyone,
