Default Car sounds like a sewing machine!

Ok, so 2 days ago my car was getting really loud at idle, like a sewing machine. It didn't have that "rocks in a jar" sound like a blown head. I made plans to bring to the stealership on Monday, and when driving home last night I got a check engine light (didn't have an opportunity to run the code) and it felt like the rev limiter kicked in at 3k.
The motor is just over a year old as Honda did the plug recall and the plug broke inside the cylinder (and they also gave me the car back w/ no oil ). They installed a new one which immediately threw a check engine b/c the map and vtec solenoids weren't connected as well as my rad fans, etc.
Could this be the TCT going bad? Any ideas? Btw I never missed a shift or over-revved it.
Thanks,
Rick

Go back to the "stealership" have have them fix their mess.

Deal with the Service Manager only. (Hope you have documentation of work done there previously.)

^^Thanks. What are the symptoms for a bad TCT? If that's all I need I'd rather pay for it and have it done right.

^^ It feels like a 3k rpm rev limit because its hesitates and won't go above 3k. I'm thinking my TCT is bad and timing gears slipped???

Sounds like the car is in "limp mode" then which won't let it go past 3k rpms. Seems if the dealership screwed up that much, I wouldnt want to go back to them. Go someplace else.

^^ How would I know if my cylinder head/ bottom end is destroyed? Any educated guesses on what it could be? If it's as simple as a TCT I would def bring it elsewhere. When it was making noise it seemed to run fine before the check eng light came on.

If you don't want to come out of pocket, you have to go back to this place.
From what you have said, this stealership screwed up big time.

Now you may have a coil bad if your car sounds like a 20k lawn mower. I just found that out on mine last night. I borrowed a friends coils and everything is fine now.

This is something you should take up with the Dealership Director and hopefully He/She will do what is right and fix your car right at no charge to you.

If they wont, then contact American Honda and explain and show your proof and hopefully they will set everything right.

As for them breaking a plug, I hope they got all the pieces out, because it will ruin your motor in a bad way.

I wish you the best in getting this resolved.

^^ Thanks again- as for the plug it ruined my entire motor so they put a new one in. American Honda bought the motor and I had to pay $1100 for the install. HondaCare wouldn't cover it because they "don't cover spark plugs"
Btw, the dealer also ruined my diff because they put CRV fluid in. I didn't have time to wait around to get that resolved so I bought another one and installed it. If I have to go to court I'll bring that up also.
It's one thing after another . . .
