Default Aluminum found in oil pan HELP

Just as the topic states, I'm a little concern as to what this could be. My buddy who's switching my vortech SC setup for an inlinepro kit told me this is what he found in my oil pan when he pulled it off.

Upon taking off the valve cover he took a look at what's visibly wrong and everything seems fine. I have driven the car and herd nothing out of the ordinary. I'm hoping my s2ki friends can help pin point what this could be.

I'm running a built alaniz head, 2mm cometic head gasket, and a stock block.

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

My guess is that it is a piece of the pan or maybe and more likely) a stray bit of aluminum that was installed un-noticed with the pan when new.

its a magnetic .. look inside ur pan and see if u can find a line that sticks out a little bit.. and that magnetic just sticks next to it but not on it.. this would be my guess. because i know auto trans pans has a few of those inside them

doesn't look like anything to worry about. i would be worried if it were an akward shape or a piece that looks like it had broken off somewhere. looks like an oil pan rib???

Might be an ingot. Don't know what an aluminum ingot might look like be it may look just like that little square you pulled from your pan.
