Hi guys. I just ordered a Tein EDFC and i need to know how to tie it directly into the fuse pannel. I know which wires go where, and i know to use the pannel under the dash. Someone posted this:
Im mainly using this picture for guidence. Well when the EDFC comes in next week, i need the right way to tap into the fuse pannel. What can i buy to run the wires in their? What fuses do i use also...size? If anyone has a write up please let me know, i have used the searched, but their is no hardcore way of tieing electronics into the fuse pannel.
While I am NOT an electronic engineer by any means, I managed to easily tap into one of the spare fuse box slots to add an additional accessory outlet and some lighting. I used a 0.25 MALE quick tap into the "constant" opening. I also used a 30amp inline fuse. It works like a charm. All the parts can be found easily at any auto store for about $4 bucks. Hope this helps. Good luck.

so when you were done, are they actual fuses on the pannel? I don't want to short anything out, i wan't the edfc directly tied into it.
The fuse is in-line and the male 0.25 quick connect goes directly into the fuse panel (middle) open slot. The set up is fuse box>>0.25 quick connect>>inline 30amp fuse>>wires to accessory and lighting. Hope this helps.

it helps, ill go to the store when i get the EDFC to see what parts i need and how to go about it better.
It sound like Boca has answered your questions. I'm not sure what an EDFC is. Does it require constant power or only when the ignition is ON. This determines which one of those 3 connections to use. Also check with the EDFC what kind of fuse they recommend. 30 amp sounds like it's way too big and may not offer any kind of protection against a short. Most accessories run less than 5 amp but like I said, I don't know what an EDFC is. You'll also need a good, solid grounding point too.
Here's a couple of pics to help you figure out what you need:
EDFC (Electronic Damping Force Controller) makes it possible for the driver to control the damping force by controlling a motor installed in the shock absorber while being seated in the driver's seat. Since the damping force can be manually controlled with ease to meet different situations, the driver can enjoy variations in the suspension setting.

Boca, i understand what you mean now. You ran a fuse inbetween the wire and pannel. So now since i will be running all 3 wires, i will need three new fuses?...correct?
Im sorry if i may be making this harder than it is guys, my electric skills have not really gone past head unit installation.
When I installed my EDFC, I soldered onto the ends of the three power wires similar quick connects to those shown in the post by xviper. For the ground wire, I soldered on a ring type terminal, basically looks the same as the quick connect but with a ring on the end instead of a slot. I ran the ground wire to the lower bolt that holds the hood pop lever in place. I plugged the power wires directly into the appropriate slots in the image you posted, no extra fuses added. The EDFC manual did not say anything about adding extra fuses. I've been running without a problem so far.

how difficult is it to run the motor wires through the firewall?
thats good to know you did not run any extra fuses, i asked around and i was told i should run a 10-15 amp inline one only with the constant power wire.
