Default Need help with my XD9 Rims. HubCentric Rings & Rub

Check here for my new wheels...
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?act=S...2&t=690296&st=0

I felt like I rubbed up front when pulled in to a gas station. Am I tweaking or could these rub? They are f7.5 r8.5 42 offset all around and f215/r245.

Also are you guys sure I don't need hub centric rings. The fronts fit over the hub snug. But in the rear it has 1/4 of an inch around the hub. So how were the rims centered? Studs? Thats not good is it?

It's ALWAYS a good idea to get hub-centric rings no matter what. You're only paying a few dollars to have the wheel sit perfectly centered. I've noticed that without them, you'll feel a lot of steering wheel shake at 60MPH +. After the rings were put on, it went away instantly and the wheel won't fall off the hub even if you don't have lugs on.

Can't say much about your rubbing though. What are you lowered on?

You need to find the center bore of the Works, probably 73mm. That will be the outer diameter of the ring. Then you need an inner diameter of 71mm for the front and 64mm for the rear.

hub rings arent needed... they just center b4 u tighten lugs.. once u tighten the wheel is fine.. 7.5 always rubs cause any tire "pokes" on it... 9.5+42 fits and wouldnt rub whereas 7.5+42 would with the same tire cause the sidewall angle

if the centerline stays the same and you widen the rim... the tire stays in the same spot but the sidewalls change shape from the width..

so imagine the tire staying in same spot... now your sidewalls are like ( ) and they rub... if wheel was wider... be like / \ and not rub.. 7.5 is a crap size i feel cause they dont really make a tire size right for it..

hub rings dont help anythig.. just in your mind... with oem wheels they center the wheel.. aftermarket wheels the lugs do that... and the friction against the hub reduced wear... the lugs hold the wheel to the hub.. the friction against hub holds the wheel from moving up/down/side/side...

lugs dont hold the wheel "up/down/side/side... they just hold it tight against the hub. piece of plastic isnt going to do a thing.

Cool! Thanks. Last question.

I understand that Hub Centric rings do not do anything once the wheels is on and lugs are torqued. I guess what my concern is that when the car is up in the air and I put the wheel on. I tightened my lugs some what, dropped the car and torqued on the ground.

How do I know wheels haven't shifted? I understnad rings are to center the wheels and then be useless once torqued. You saying they dont even help centering it, correct?
