Default stock s2k=0-60 in 4.9

I found a Road and Track from January 2001 with an article entitle "Sibling Rivalries". In this they quote a stock S2000 going O-60 in 4.9. I was suprised, because I had seen as fast as 5.2 seconds in Motor Trend (Febuary 2000), but thats still a big leap. Do you guys think this is realistic?

They posted later that its a miss print. I think the car could do that.. but not stock.

It was a mis-print and when they later re-printed the article for their sports cars edition it was changed to 5.5 sec. The 4.9 sec. was for the NSX

if you had 50 shot of NOS, you can probably get 4.9 stock, NO WAY.. i think 5.5-5.9 is about a fair consumption.

It would be a nice thought, but we can't have everything stock, thats what aftermarket companies are for.

Didn't Road & Track test drive the Mugen's SS2200 2.2 stroked concept car?
I was thinking that they've gotten 4.9 second from estimation and maybe that may have contributed to the mis-print of the 0-60 time for a normal S2000.
Anyway I guess, if your car is Mugen stroked, it would be very possible to achieve the 4.9 second.

lets get sev in here ( i think its him) but he got 5.1 stock on a gtech, but i would say 5.3-5 is a good average for the s2k, i wouldnt doubt the s2k doing a 5.0 or 5.1 in PERFECT or near perfect conditions.
