NSX engine swap?
Okay.
I know this is not my usual kind of post, but be patient.
I had lunch with a friend who is a total NSX freak (has owned three to date). We then went for a ride in my S2000. He loved it (grin). Kept talking about how much fun it is.
He then said that (in his opinion) the S2000 would be among the best sports cars in the world if you could drop the engine from a newer NSX in it (he happens to have a crashed one - his second of three) and if it was possible he would consider doing so. I told him I had no idea if this was possible or not - but knew where to ask the question.
So this is where you all come in.
Possible? Not possible? Difficult to the point of improbable? Pretty easy?
What do you think?

I think you can pretty much rule out the pretty easy part.
For one thing, I am sure the V6 would be too wide to stuff in the car... then you have to find a tranny... remeber the nsx is mid engine, that means it's basic layout is like a FWD... so the tranny won't work.
Next is mounting... even if you can some how stuff the engine in the bay, you gotta figure out how to make mounts for it.
I donno... the B16 swap for the CRX was easy... but I don't think this one will be. I mean with enough money it can be done... but then, it'd probably throw off the character of the S2000.

Just ask Adam Saruwantari <<< spelled wrong i think
but in his NSX race car he put the enginge up front so this means he knows what to do but he probably has a race tranny and i know for sure he has a race rear end

S2000 is first clockwise rotating engine; the others are counterclockwise, I think. Why not just drop in a V-8/tranny combo ala the "Monster Miata" of a few years back? Then you'd have a great drag car, but a real slug as a sportscar.
i have no desire to do such a swap myself, and i doubt that this guy would be interested - except that he is (as noted) a total NSX fanatic and he loved the S2K.
he just thought it would be a great combo and i told him i'd check for general opinion on the viability of such a solution.
so... it sounds like rotation direction would preclude such a swap.
