Not bothered which really, if I'm on 230 miles and I'm at a BP - Ultimate, or at a Shell - Optimax, or an Esso Superunleaded.

As long as it's not less than 97RON who cares

I've chosen any unleaded, by that I mean any high octane unleaded

I use Ultimate as the BP garage is closer than the nearest Shell garage.

If they were the same distance I would probably fill up at the one I was passing.

Whereas we applaud u Ian

I use Ultimate a lot as I like the feel, but in summer I do ejoy the harsher, stronger Optimax feel

Just spotted this on one of the other forums I read. Which is quite interesting...

[QUOTE]OK, so don't ask why, but I have a copy of a recent BSi certificate of laboratory tested octane values for some samples of petrol. I also know which samples were which, so I can match up the source with the results

I've tried the BP......smoother than Optimax but the VTEC kick is softened

I use Q8 SUL if I am feeling flush as this in my experience provides the best performance but it's nearly 90p a litre

I use Optimax because the filling station is on my way home from work.....it's got wide bays too so no worries about numpties dinging the door
