Default 2- s2k's, 5- Porsches, 1- MR-2

I just got back from a little Thanksgiving Run with:

My 2000 black Honda s2k
another 2000 black Honda s2k
a 2000 Porsche Carrera 4 Cabriolet
a 1999 Porsche Carrera 4 Cabriolet
a 1996 Porsche C4S
a 1987 Porsche 930t slant nose
a 1983 Carrera Cabriolet
and a 2001 Toyota MR-2

We blasted through the twisty mountain roads and the other s2k, the 96 C4S, and the 2000 Carrerea Cabrio just took off. I held up the rear and cruised with the 99' Cabrio since he wasn't into real spirited driving. The other s2k kept up very evenly with the other Porsches which amazed me. Those other Porsches were AWD and the first three cars just carved up the mountain roads. The Honda s2000 impressed everyone that was there.

The Toyota MR-2 tried to keep up, but found himself nearly missing a few trees. Nice car, but just could not keep up.

The 930t and the 83 Carrera followed the leading cars, but was slightly behind. The 930t was pushing close to 400hp . That car is quick.

As for myself, I mostly stayed back and cruised with the 99' Cabriolet and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. But when I saw a nice open stretch, with some aggressive turns, I just had to GO!! I gotta say, I'm very impressed with the way my car handles. A little edgey at times where I felt as though the rear is about to come out, but it maintained it's line all the way through.

What impressed me the most was how the other STOCK s2000 kept up with the AWD Porsches. They were all driving very aggressive. I would have loved to join them, but I just enjoyed the cruise with the 99' Cabrio.

Just thought I'd share this story to all the car lovers out there.

Yea, got to love a $32K 4 cylinder convertable that gets 30mpg (when driven below VTEC...which is easy to do) but can keep up with some of the best cars on the road...or the track

Sounds like a good run, thanks for sharing!

Sorry no pics. I do not have a scanner or digital camera at this time, but if I do get my hands on one, then I definately will post the pictures. Just to give you an idea of the cars:

2000 Red Porsche Carrera 4 Cabrio
1999 Champagne Carrera 4 Cabrio
1996 Yellow Porsche 911 C4S
1987 White Porsche 930t Slant-Nose
1983 Maroon Porsche Carrera Cabrio
2001 White Toyota MR-2
2000 Black Honda s2000
2000 Black Honda s2000

The Porsches were awesome! The sound of the engine and the exhaust pipes was a symphony to my ears.

The next run we'll do will include the cars that I just mentioned, plus I'm trying to get a 1992 Acura NSX, 2001 BMW M5, couple more Porsches including a Boxster S, and hopefully a Ferrari 360 Modena Coupe

1999 Champagne Carrera 4 Cabrio
Ugh, I hate this color.

I don't think the average 996 driver can go much faster through twisties than a good S driver can.
Be sure to play it safe though .

Actually I'm not that fond of Champagne myself, but this one was beautiful!!! The clean body lines and the color looked so elegant and classy, and because it was a Porsche, well that's all I have to say.

Another note:

I think that the s2000's had really earned the respect from the Porsche owners. They were very impressed that the Honda s2000 can more than hold it's own against their new AWD Porsche Carreras. It makes me proud even more to own this wonderful car.
