Default Disconecting the Passenger air bag

I am going to be taking my son to Daycare in the mornings and would like to take my Honda rather than the Landrover. Does anyone know how to disconnect the passenger side air back. Canadian Garages and dealerships will not advise due to possible law suits.

I'm not sure about Canada laws, but in the US, you can get a switch installed that will deactive the bag. I'm not sure if anyone has done it them selves, but many have had switches installed by professionals. In the US, most of the installers are airbag installers (most are mobile units that go to body shops and replace spent airbags with new ones after an accident), so try looking for them or ask any body shops.

The switches are not a simple switch, but a unit that will "fool" the airbag system that the bag is functional so that the warning light wont' stay on. They also have an indicator light so the driver can quickly see if the bag is activated or not.

I have the switch installed. You will want to contact Air Bag Options at (888) 903-0004. They supply the airbag switch nationwide. It was $325 + tax installed.
