coilovers . . . . . need help
Hey guys,
I just bought some H&R coilovers for the s. I was wondering if any of you have any advice on these coilovers. Opinions?? I am running stock size tires, and am not sure how far i could lower it before rubbage. Also, my friend is telling me that i need to get the car corner balanced? What the heck is that? Is there anywhere to get that done in North dallas area?
also, if anyone wants to help with the install, I encourage!! hehe. Any of you guys go to Motorsport Ranch??

No suggestions on those in particular, but...
Corner balance (corner weighting) involves getting you and the car (as you will race it) on corner scales and "balancing" the car for optimal handling. It's VERY unnecessary unless you want to get serious about racing and times or just have the money to burn. If you set the L/R coilovers the same height, and set the ride height (via fender lip height) so that the F/R are lowered the same amount, you should be OK. If the spring rates are much different (proportionally) to the stock values F/R then you might need to corner weight to keep the OEM balance.

I didn't corner balance my JICs. I agree with Marcucci that it is not necessary unless you are trying to squeeze that last .001 seconds out of the car on a road course. The stock suspension can't be corner balanced.
Be careful about how low you go with the H&Rs. They have really soft springs, so lowering it will increase your chances of bottoming the car out over bumps.
