Default Retrofitting the 04 Headrest speakers for previous model years (pics)

Hi all, just wanted to share some info and photos of the new 04 head rest speakers

Basically what the factory accessory box comes with ($499 MSRP) is:

2 speaker mounts
1 interface cable
instructions
template
screws, pads, clips etc...

The speakers are 8 ohms wired in parallel bringing them down to 4. That how you get the stereo from factory decks. In other words, the right passenger and right driver and left passenger, left driver are wired together. 1 plug to the deck yields 4 plugs to the seats. You take off the seat assembly (held by only 4 clips), use the template to drill out 4 screw holes to mount it, screw it in, pull up the seatback and run the wires down. Plugs into the wire cable to the deck.

Sound itself is very good. Top down you'll hear everything but deep bass tones. The speakers are plastic so they'll stand up better than paper.

Yes, these will fit all model years.

Using our rear speaker harness (with interface plug to the cable run) you can connect any stock deck

You can wire them to an amp or aftermarket as long as you mind the load

We'll have something up shortly online INCLUDING the rear harness for MY00-03 decks for UNDER $499

Thanks

Edit - Guess I posted too quick, thanks for speaker pics. Any idea on the specs of the speakers? They must be damn good speakers for $500.

So there is no cutting on the seats for the install right?

Waterbug - The speakers CAN be changed out to something else, I'm looking into it. Anything from Honda cost $$.

Asu -- You do have to take apart the seat and drill holes in that headrest piece.

I was just worried about leather destruction. Looks like that is not an issue. Are you going to sell the harness to adapt them into a aftermarket deck separately.....Are most aftermarket decks 4 ohm standard output?

Marcus,

Can you please post the diagrams from the ESM for the headrest removal?

So are these speakers really worth it? Are they quality enough to be worth getting?

i would also be interested in this if they can be wired into aftermarket decks easily!

Otherwise, i have Diamond components in the doors with
crossovers, so if i can wire them into that it would work fine too!

$500 for some $30 speakers in a neat little enclosure is a little ridiculous.
