Default RESET the ENGINE CHECK Light

My engine check light has been constantly on for about a month. Finally I decided to get off my lazy ass and get under the dash and pull the fuse and reset the Engine check light and it consequently disappeared. After about 2 hours of driving it hasn't come on yet. How long before I can say that it's all good? If something was detected wrong, would the engine check light come immediately back on, or would it take awhile? A few days? Thanks for the help guys.

That depends on why it came on - should have checked the diagnostic codes first before doing that.

Maybe it came on because it was time for an oil change (it comes on at regular intervals). Check the FAQ for reset: https://www.s2ki.com/faqs/showfaq.php?threadid=17414

The owners manual discusses this too. Hope this helps.

Check Engine and Maintainance Required are not the same light, or am I mistaken?

not mistaken... also you can reset the maint. req. light w/o pulling a fuse.

Yea this was the Check Engine Light, not the maintenance required indicator. I thought that resetting the Check Engine indicator was a test to see if you really had a problem. For example, if there was something wrong, the light would come back on after you reset it. And if it didn't come back on, than that meant that it might have just been a glitch or something and everything was okay.

Nevertheless, I would have preferred to see what the error codes were first...
