Default squeeky noise with the top up

See, I have been having this annoying problems lately.. when my top is up and the windows down, the structure of the top seems to "squeek" everytime I go over uneven pavement. But it does not happen when both windows are closed.

So now I am left with three options.. windows closed, top down or crank the music until I can't hear it. Does anyone have this problem? and how did u fixed it?

Thanks dudes.

Jaime

There is a Honda shinzitzu grease that you can use on the top of the windshield where it meets the convertable top. Should get rid of that squeek. See if you can locate it and make sure its not a joint.

Well, I was able to pin it down to the middle bar right atop of the passenger seat. From the little I have been reading on the search, it seems a common thing on '02s... and it is really irritating!!! Well, there is a solution that I found from the arquives, and I will give it a try tonight..

"Above your head to the left and right there is a small plastic sleeve with a screw in the middle of it. The tech took those off on either side, (they are right above each window) and lubed them up and the clicking is GONE!"

Just wondering what plastic sleeve, with a screw in it, is...

I have a squeek that shows up whenever the top is up - windows up or down. It's in the "joint" right above the driver-side door. I am guessing a little grease would take care of it, however I have been too lazy.

This doesn't sound like the same type of squeek you are getting though.

I also have heard a squeek on mine right at the center bar - although, I really only notice it when the car is cold in the winter - All this summer I haven't heard it when the top has been up. I'll have to check for those plastic pieces and see if I can get rid of it because it is extremely annoying in the winter - its all you hear!!!

I have this problem as well. It sounds more like clicking than squeaks.

MY2002 here as well.

Haven't experienced this one but still have the passenger door squeak. Lube cured ir for all of 400miles. I'll get this car back in shape in warm weather, meanwhile...

bump..squeak...bump...squeak...
