Default Squeaky Clutch

I just had my 30,000 mile service done last week and ever since then, I've noticed that when I press down on the clutch there is a slight squeaking sound that is driving me crazy.

Does anyone know what they could have done that would have caused this to happen. I'm going to take it back in but I kinda wanted to get some feedback first.

Thanks for your help.

I'm glad someone else has experienced this...I tired WD-40 and alll kinds of craziness...it seems to happen in the cooler weather, at least that is what happened last winter....it comes and goes, but mostly in the cold weather...I will be interested to hear what you get as a response on this...

It's the counter balancing spring for the pedal squeaking on itself. Be the contortionist and get some grease packed in between the coils of the spring (it's light purple or pink colored and about an inch or so in diameter with two sides).
At least that's what mine was

rock on!! where the hell is the spring? driver foot well or under the car...I got down inside the car and made it squeek, but it seemed to be coming from behind the rubber bladder where the clutch mechanism goes through the firewall....

It's above the pivot point of the clutch pedal toward the firewall. We're talk'n deep baby (hence the contortionist comment in my first post )

Just got my car back from the dealership and they fixed the squeaking. Here is what my service order said....

"Noise coming from pivot point at clutch and slave cylinder, cleaned and lubed pivot points at clutch release fork and slave cylinder"

I don't think this is the same place RT was talking about so it might be another place to check if it continues for any of you.

Time to resurrect this old thread! My 2001 has about 12K on it and I have the clutch squeek. I also notice that there is more resistance on this car than on the 2000 we own. Where exactly is the clutch pivot? In the passenger compartment or the engine bay? I'm assuming lithium grease should do the trick. I know that this is a warranty issue, but if it's simple I'd just as soon fix it myself.

Wow so I'm not the only one.... for about a month, I was getting squeaky clutch pedal where the slower you depress it, the more resistance/louder the sound is. Then it just magically went away for almost a year or something. Now, the clutch is all funky feeling, not quite like it was before (squeaky/clicky), but it feels like the resistance is uneven as it gets depressed. And sometimes I feel almost as though the clutch has suddenly lightened! Kinda freaking me out sometimes. Clutch level is totally full. Maybe it's these hot days we got in SoCal lately that's causing it? I'm gonna go check out this spring thingy and see if that's the problem.
