Default Spoon wheels and lowered suspension

Hi folks,

I read many posts here from owners saying that if you go with the Spoon wheels with 35/45 f/r offsets, then they do not recommend any lowering because the aggressive offset on the front might allow the tires to run etc.

But, I'm looking at the Hyper Rev booklet and I'm absolutely drooling over the Monte Carlo Blue Spoon car and it seems like the car with SW388 is lowered QUITE a BIT!!! Does anyone know how this is possible? What allows Spoon to lower their cars so much and not expect rubbing? Or do they rub?

I know the looks of these wheels is a very controversial topic, but with those FATARSE A032 tires, the car looks so so so so so sweet! I'm about to faint. It's like fainting because you saw Heidi Klum posing in front of you. Sigh.. I hate Honda for not bring the Monte Carlo Blue over.

Another question, which one looks better? Sebring Silver with Spoon wheels or Black with Spoon wheels?

Jimmy

Hmm.. I'm not sure. It's late now, I guess we'll have to wait until Mingster wakes up tomorrow.

Also, where are the suspension gurus?

Mingster actually used Neuspeed springs for his car when he had the Spoon SW388's on. It looked soooo SWEET!!

But he has since gone back to stock springs and stock rims powdercoated black due to domestic issues...(his lovely Wife absolutely hated the Spoon rims!! )

EsuNissen,

Thanks for the replies and posts.

Which one do you think looks better? Silver car with spoon wheels or Black car with spoon wheels?

Tks,
Jimmy

The blue spoon car in HyperRev has lots of negative camber allowing it not to rub, not very practical on the streets because it will give you uneven tire wear. In addition, the spoon car uses coilovers that have shocks that can be adjusted for stiffness so that there's less travel up and down.
