Hey,

I got mine on saturday too. If you were too lazy to read, the manual says keep under 5500 RPM, i thought it was rather high. I shift around 3000. Break in period is 1000 miles.

Keep the oil in her for 7500 miles since it has the breakin additives.

The '06 has an "oil minder". The manual says something about waiting for the thing to indicate when to change the oil or at 12 months, whichever happens first. If the owner beats the crap out of the car in short order due to heavy use, the oil minder will know and indicate an oil change early. Chances are, it will not make it to 7500 miles. Even on pre-'06 cars, you would change the oil at 3750 miles if the conditions warrant it (service schedule A or B). It is keeping the oil non-synthetic till 7500 that is the key element.

Guy's I am going to run into a possible problem. My car is approaching a year old and will only have around 1500 miles. Should I run the original fill for more then 12 months, or do the change at 1 year. Thanks Jon

What does your owner's manual say? I'm pretty sure there is a passage in there that states you should change it at 12 months even if the oil minder doesn't light up. At that time, stick with conventional oil till you do get to about 7500 miles. Reset the oil minder when you do the change.
