Opinions/Questions regarding Clear Bra
I have been contemplating this for my MY04, but there are some concerns:
1. Which products won't turn yellow with time.
2. Can they be easily removed?
3. Anyone had one for a long time? Happy/Never again?
4. Cost seems pretty high???

1. Most 3M products have a 5 year guarantee and are not supposed to yellow.
2. I was told by my installer that it can be peeled off just like window tint.
3. Only had mine for 4 months...I am still very happy with it.
4. Yes it is pricey. Mine was $600 for entire front, 25% hood, mirrors, door cups, and door sills. But I won't have to be repainting anytime soon, or looking at nasty rock dings.
IMO it was well worth it, but it is really a personal choice.

I have Stongard light protectors and their clear bra with entire front bumper, hood, mirrors, door cups, door sills and door edge protectors. Yes it's expensive but my front end has NO rock chips or dings. I wish the hood film went just a bit higher though as I've gotten two slight knicks from stones hitting it then hitting my windshield.
The guy who installed it said it would come off easier then it went on.
All in all on of my best mods IMO.

I'm definately interested in putting this on mine when I get it. First thing I'm going to do.
Couple questions though...
Do people recommend claying a brand new car before putting on a clear bra?
Can you Zaino the clear bra? Can you tell a difference between normal paint and paint covered by the clear bra after waxing/Zainoing?
Thanks in advance for any info!

Hey everybody, if you are interested, I can get the pre-cut clear bras for the S2000 at a volume discount. If we can get 10 or more, I can sell the kits for $300. PM me for details. These kits are high quality manufactured by 3M, fit any year S2000, and are easy to install. I can provide a CD with installation instructions upon request.
I've had the 3M Scotchcal film (Xpel version) for 3.5 years now. It has never yellowed and is holding out very well. It has saved my car from many rock hits. Beware that there are 2 types of film - a thick one and a thin one. The thick one is cheaper and is harder to install as it doesn't contour as well and will yellow over time. The pricier, thinner one is the one to get.
Also beware that although the product is very similar from one company to another prices have varied between as low as $400.00 to as high as $1300.00 installed. There is tremendous markup in this industry. So which end of the profit margin do you want to be on?
It takes a bit of a knack to install this yourself. You need to be a "handy kinda guy/gal" and know a bit about "wet" installing stuff like window tint and decals. If you don't, you are best to find a good installer to do the whole thing.
ps. I installed it myself but I almost crapped my drawers a couple times when I thought I had ruined the main piece. The front bumper cap piece is the largest, most expensive piece in the kit and it's very easy to ruin it.

Yes, I Zaino the car and bra regularly. And no there is no real noticeable difference, the bra shine up just as well as the paint.
