Default Cracked cam tower?

Alright guys, heres the deal. A little over two weeks ago my CEL came on for misfires in all four cylinders. So, I took the car into Rock Honda in Cali and they did a leakdown test. The guy said that 18% and under was fine, well one was 18%, another was 70%, another was 40% and the last was 30%.

At this point, I'm like "shit, bent valves" but I couldn't figure out how it happened. I never over revved the car, never mis-shifted. Nothing.

So, I had them tear down the motor, which took them four days. Today, Steve in service called me and gave me the scoop. I have a cracked cam tower and two loose bolts which apparently caused the cam tower to crack. So I figure, this could have caused the bent valves.

Now what I'm wondering is, will Honda Care take care of this? The guy from Honda Care already came down to look at the damage, but he won't say anything. He has to take his info back to "headquarters" so they can make a decision.

What do you guys think? And do you think that the cracked cam-tower could have caused the bent valves?

Thanks for any responses.

Few Q's for you:

What have you done in terms of engine modification up to this point?
What is your current mileage?
Did this happen all of a sudden?
Were there any symptoms that had surfaced before the CEL?
What sort of usage has the car seen?
Are you thr original owner?

The car's completely stock.
My current mileage is up around 52k.
The problem did just come out of nowhere.
I had no symptoms before the CEL.
I just do normal driving, no track use, VTEC the car maybe three times a day.
I'm not the original owner. The first owner was a 45 year old man. It was his weekend car. He didn't baby it, but he wasn't too rough on it.

I'm not sure what a cam tower is, but if it's one of the cam caps then they don't just "crack." Something happened. Not that it is your fault, but this is the first I have heard of it on ANY Honda and I seriously doubt it was from an assembly error at Honda.

I definitely would insist the warranty cover it if you have not ever done anything to the motor.

I'm no wiz with motors, so I'm not exactly sure what it is either. The service guy said that "it's what holds the cam up." I haven't gotten a chance to swing by and look at it yet.

Sounds like he's referring to the journals.

UPDATE: Honda Care is going to cover everything. They are replacing the whole head. I'm ecstatic!
