You should get pics of the damage. Like marcucci said, this is the first time that we've heard of this happening.

Alright. I'll try to swing by the dealership either tomorrow or Thursday and take some pictures. The service guy said that it is likely that the damage happened due to someone at another dealership not tightening down a couple of bolts after tearing down the motor to replace a burnt valve for the previous owner.

So the service records show that the car has previously suffered from a burnt valve? Or was he just pulling that out of his bum?

haha, no. The previous owner told me about the burnt valve, which was replaced under warranty.

Well, I went by Rock Honda today to take pictures of the cracked cam tower, but the guys that were working on my car had just left to lunch and the service guy didn't know where they put it.

However, the new head is on so I took pictures of the new head. They're just waiting for one more part to come in, then they can finish up. I should have her back on the road early next week.

I'm gonna swing by there next week to take pictures of the cracked cam tower.

Damn, good luck with your car man. I hope things turn out o.k., I hope it's nothing too serious.

Cam towers don't just crack out of nowhere. It cracked because the dealership that had worked on it previously forgot to tighten the bolts for the tower.

Alright, I stopped by the dealership today and was able to snap a couple of pictures of the cracked cam tower.

It was worse than I thought. It's not just cracked, it's broken. Enjoy!
