HELP!How do u turn off AC when the defroster is on
today in southern cali there is an unexpected showering all over which caused my windsheild to be fogged......
so i turned on a defroster on ,,, but whenever i move the switch to defroster, the light on AC button automatically comes on.... and i tried to turn it off but it wouldnt turn off.....
now i have a 2005 S2000 and i used to own a 2000 s2000 and i dont think it never did in my 2000 s2000,,,,
is this a some kinda feature that is added to AP2 or im misunderstanding that my 2000 s2000 never did this???
i dont like cold air coming out when the defroster is on,,,,,,,
Help please thanks a lot !!!

my 03 does that. If you research it the cold air is better to clear the foggy windows better than the hot air.. If you notice i belive it also changes the setting to fresh air rather than recirculated..

jhondas2 is correct. Air run through the condensor contains less moisture, making the defroster more efficient. You may be able to get the light to turn off in some cars, but I believe the A/C will still be engaged. Even my '92 Accord does this. Says so right in the manual.
Also remember, just because the A/C is engaged does not mean that the air must be cold. The A/C, in this case, is acting more as a dehumidifier than a cooler.

1) Turn vehicle off.
2) Turn fan knob off.
3) Turn temperature knob counter-clockwise to minimum (blue area).
4) Turn vent knob to panel only setting (next to max a/c).
5) Hold down both air recirculation button and a/c button while starting car.
6) Continue holding for 7-10 seconds until air recirculation button stops flashing.
To Re-activate automatic a/c feature in the future if you like too:
1) Turn vehicle off.
2) Turn fan knob off.
3) Turn temperature knob counter-clockwise to minimum (blue area).
4) Turn vent knob clockwise to defrost position.
5) Hold down both air recirculation button and a/c button while starting car.
6) Continue holding for 7-10 seconds until air recirculation button stops flashing.
7) After the 7-10 seconds described in step 6, the recirculation button will start to flash. Continue to hold the button for another 7-10 seconds. After this, the a/c light will turn to green and it's finished!

I did it a little while ago and like it alot. I just like to be the one who says when the A/C comes on. You don't always need dry air.
I did this mod two year's ago. It kinda blow's not being able to select the defrost mode WITHOUT AC coming on. I like being able to use the defrost mode while blasting away through the canyon's, racing the motor a lil bit WITHOUT AC being on.

I've had my car for a few more months than you have, so I'll let you in on a little secret you might not know about: See the knob on the right hand side of the steering wheel? There's some red and blue markings around it?.... TURN IT CLOCKWISE. There. No more cold air.

Thanks for the tip!
