Default Hardwire V1 into '05 S

I have tried to use the search feature (which is not working ) and have run into a problem trying to figure out where to hardwire my V1. A friend of mine took some pictures of his fuse box from his '01, and it looks slightly different from my fuse box. Also, I can't tell if the clip is bigger on my V1 than his, or what, but it does not fit. So, I am wondering, if it doesn't fit, does anyone have any other suggestion on where I can tap into to get power. I don't want a constant on though (so I don't have to manually turn the radar detector every time I get out of the car)
Any help would be great.
Thanks!

if you still have problems, let us know. i'm not entirely familiar w/ the 05's, but last time i was under the dash of an '04, i don't recall noticing any major differences...

What if I want to utilize the hardware that came with the hardwire kit for the V1?

These instructions are specific for plugging into the connector slot which would mean that the male connector is replaced by a female plug.

All I need is a 12v ignition power wire that I can just place the crimp connector that comes with the hardwire kit. The male connector conveniently plugs into that and you're all set from there.

Think of the crimp connector like one of those stereo wire crimp connectors that just taps the power line without having to splice wires.

i'm not sure what the issue is...

no reason, i'd just wondered if any s2k owners actually used the provided hardware instead of hacking off the original connector?

i figure it would take like 5 min once you found a 12v ignition power wire.
