is there anyway to adjust the highbeams?
i'm having trouble seeing when i drive at night in the mountains. i went up to pay a friend a visit, and the highbeams only illuminate directly in front of the car, just further. is there anyway to make it so it gets a little more to the sides? i dont want to get driving lights just for this...
i searched my .pdf s2000 manual, and i couldn't find anything about the highbeams.

The headlights can only be adjusted as a complete unit (and only for up/down). About the only solution for you (if not going with separate lighting) is to get higher intensity bulbs. Have a look here for some ideas:

One of the neat features of our headlights is how far to the side they illuminate. One of the strange features is the hard line at the top where the illumination stops.
When I first got mine I thought I couldn't see either but I adjusted them up just a little bit and found that solved the problem. I have one section I drive by that is usually pitch black because the road falls away to both sides but with the S I can see the trees that are about 100' off the side of the road.
I don't remember the exact specs but the method of adjusting is to park X feet from a wall and adjust until the hard line of light is X distance up. I simply parked in front of my garage and adjusted then up about an inch and then adjusted the right one until I almost got rid of the little "drop" between the left and right lights. I then had my wife drive my car and I headed towards her to make sure they weren't too high. I still get flashed occassionally when I am driving at night, but I got that before I readjusted them.
A friend of mine lives WAY OUT in the sticks and after driving my car he sold his Ford PU and bought a Caddy PU just to get the same kind of lights because he can see so much further to the sides which lets him avoid deer and other small animals.
